Role Description:

The Research, Awareness and Learning (RAL) Manager will be responsible for managing UYDO’s research as well as the awareness and learning aspects of UYDO. This will include managing teams of bloggers and researchers, managing our monthly topics and subsequent support documentation, managing our issues section on the website and finding expert shouters for the monthly topics. The RAL Manager will also be responsible for coordinating the monthly newsletter.

Responsibilities:

# Research and update the ‘Issues’ section of the website on a weekly basis

# Recruit ‘expert shouters’ to blog about the monthly topics

# Manage and recruit teams of researchers to research UYDO-related topics and research commissioned by our partners

# Manage and recruit a team of ‘Shouters’ or bloggers to shout on each of the issues on the website

# Respond to comments on the ‘Chatterbox’

# Compose and coordinate the production of the UYDO monthly newsletter

Requirements:

# Creative thinker

# Strong research capabilities

# An academic background in development or a related discipline, ideally at post-graduate level

# Ability to write well and communicate to a variety of audiences

# Team player

# Fluent English

# Strong organizational skills and communication skills

# Ability to work on own initiative and multi-task

# Ability to work with members of different backgrounds

# Able to commit to a weekly skype Executive Committee meeting

# Commitment to UYDO's aims and objectives

# This post is voluntary and we're ideally looking for a commitment of 7-14 hours a week
