Role Description
The University Coordinator will assist in implementing UYDO’s University Strategy & Fundraising Strategy aimed at universities. He/she will work closely with the Community Relations Manager, providing practical feedback on the strategy, as well as working with the Community Coordinator and the other University Coordinators. As well as handling general correspondence related to universities, he/she will ensure relationships with key universities are maintained and created. The University Coordinator will be the first point of contact for all universities and societies, providing support, guidance and resources on getting involved in UYDO’s three programs: Youth Entrepreneurs Program; Volunteering, Research & Capacity Building Program; and the Campaigning, Awareness Raising & Global Citizenship Program.
Due to the nature of the post, the role will be divided over three people.
Responsibilities
- Implement UYDO’s fundraising strategy for universities
- Meet the monthly objectives as outlined in the fundraising strategy
- Responsible for key relationships at universities
- Be main and first point of contact for university students and student-led organisations
- Provide guidance and support for the wider community regarding UYDO’s three programs
- Maintain and update all online and offline fundraising materials necessary to implement the strategy
- Represent UYDO at the RAG conference and other university events as necessary
- Oversee academic calendars and understand the academic year to relate it to the strategy
- Work with the Marketing/PR Team to recruit active UYDO members through university societies and departments
- Working with the New Media Team to ensure university fundraising has a presence in online materials
- Input into the monthly newsletter and emails
- Encourage university groups to fundraise for UYDO
- Gather fundraising stories to be used in online and offline UYDO materials
Requirements
- Strong communication skills
- Excellent writing skills
- Fluent in English
- Comfortable with speaking in public
- Experience of being part of or working with student-led organisations at universities
- Experience of producing online and offline materials preferable
- Ability to work on own initiative and multi-task
- Ability to work with members of different backgrounds
- Able to commit to monthly team meetings in London
- Commitment to UYDO's aims and objectives
- This post is voluntary and we're ideally looking for a commitment of 7-14 hours a week for 1 year
