Role Description
The Researcher assumes responsibility for information gathering and dissemination as well as project data analysis activities. This includes participating in research design and methodology activities, developing and maintaining programs that convert data into analyzable formats and/or that can be utilized for data analysis, independent research commissioned by UYDO, as well as writing and preparing research reports. This individual will represent UYDO and its research agenda and will have a major impact on UYDO’s program development.
Responsibilities
- Work with the Head of Programs in determining which areas that UYDO will commence research
- Work with the Head of Programs in setting the scope of the research and develop research proposals
- Liaise with internal and external actors in commencing the research
- Assist with providing data analysis and disseminating information
- Write and prepare research reports
Requirements
- Excellent communication skills, especially writing and editing
- Exceptional research skills and experience with major research project, thesis, etc.
- Qualitative and quantitative analysis skills
- Extensive computer skills (Especially Microsoft Office)
- Interest in and knowledge of microfinance, finance youth, and development issues
- Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task and complete projects by deadline
- Detail-oriented, ability to take initiative and work independently
- Ability to work on own initiative and multitask
- Self-Starter, Team player
- Fluent in English
- Ability to work with members of different backgrounds
- Commitment to UYDO's aims and objectives
- This post is voluntary and we're ideally looking for a commitment of 7-14 hours a week for 1 year
